About

Yellow fever is an acute viral haemorrhagic disease spread by infected mosquitoes. It is named Yellow Fever due to the jaundice caused by this disease in patients.

This disease affects the kidneys and liver, it can even cause haemorrhage and organ failure. Severe yellow fever is fatal and can even lead to death.

Warnings

  • If your child has a history of egg allergy please inform us so a decision can be made whether to give the vaccine. It has to be very severe for us not to give the vaccine.
  • The vaccine cannot be given earlier than nine months because of the risk of brain inflammation called encephalitis.
